My girl is #1  Ok, enough gloating because I am pretty sure that was a given in the vocal dept. ;) Debby isn't a singer, she herself has said as much. It's a hobby for her which isn't the best way to go into things if you truly want to pursue it. Acting is where Debby should stay, because she does it so well. :)

I liked Vanessa's version of "Colors of the Wind" better than the original.

Are you sure it's not some personal-

(and boy do I hate to admit this) Vanessa can actually sing.

- oh. Well at least you give her that. Still, I liked Vanessa's cover.

I'm surprised Bridgit hasn't done a solo CD. She certainly has the talent to do it. And I'm sure it would go gold at the very least.

She will and she will be a vocal star for DC. I have no doubts :D

Greg,

When it comes to music we always seem to have completely opposite opinions. I can tell you with 100% confidence that when I judge someone's musical abilities, particularly with vocals (which happens to be my specialty) that my personal feelings never get in the way. As you know I love Debby with all my heart and soul but in my opinion she doesn't have much, if any talent when it comes to music. On the other hand I can't stand Vanessa Hudgens yet I fully admit that girl can sing. I don't think she's Grammy material by any means but I would call her a singer.

That said, her version of "Colors of the Wind" was horrible. This is BY FAR the worst arrangement of this song I have ever heard. There are amateur videos on youtube that are easier to listen to than Vanessa's version. In fairness to Ms. Hudgens it's unlikely she had anything to do with the arrangement, she's not THAT talented and vocalist-only-musicians (those who don't have any traditional musical training and do not play an instrument) usually do not have the knowledge needed to be an arranger.

Bridgit Mendler can also definitely sing and I'm very surprised Disney hasn't pushed her for a solo album. They need to do that because it will increase her popularity. I would buy her album.

I'm also still hoping for another album from Ashley Tisdale but it needs to be more "sugary" pop like the first album was rather than the edgy stuff she tried (but didn't succeed) with her second album. As with Vanessa I wouldn't call Ashley Grammy material but her voice is very pleasant and she definitely has talent when it comes to music. I love her first album "Headstrong" and still listen to it occasionally. Now if only she'd put a little "meat" on those scrawny chicken legs of hers.

As much as I like Debby, I found that cover she did of "Deck the Halls" to be very hard to listen to. It was such a weird arrangement of that song, done in a "rock" style that that song never should be done in....."Don we now our......gay apparel" *shudder*
I did like the song she did for 16 Wishes though ("A Wish Comes True Every Day") and the "Made of Matches" song. Debby doesn't have the greatest voice in the world, but it certainly suited those 2 songs well enough.

My opinions:

Bridgit can sing, but I've not been particularly impressed with her voice. It's forgettable....Vanessa can sing, but I've not been impressed with her voice either....Ashley can sing, but something tells me she'll never have a huge mega-hit or anything close to that. Some people are just good but unlucky that way. Carly Hennessy/Smithson also comes to mind as one of those people....Adam Hicks' rap on "Determinate" was so annoying that I cut it out from my track. ....I still say Debby can successfully record something enjoyable that is more than just a theme song. "A Wish Comes True Everyday" was a good start...

as I said I like "Deck the Halls" the best. I remember seeing people FREAKING OUT(on youtube) becuse she said "Gay Apparel"..I am shocked soo many people DO NOT know the word "gay" 's original meaning...kinda funny

the both songs on the 16 Wishes soundtrack are great! I like Made of matches because it was differerent and her vocals where Completely different than normal...but it is not me "favorite"

Once Christmas Season rolls around Debby's "Deck the Halls" is sure to be my ringtone and my fav Christmas song!:D

This is true.

Honestly, I pretty much tune out all the background noise in all songs and just focus on the lyrics.

*pulls up iTunes*

Okay I can kind of see what you were getting at with that song, but I still like it.

She is pretty busy with GLC, then the GLC movie and LM2 at some point. I hope she gets to it soon though.

She's still signed with WB records, I believe, so a third album is a possibly but nothing planned right now. The second album was so good but it had no promotion. Tizz did a couple morning talk shows and two shows in LA. That was it.

That doesn't mean clothes designed by gay people?

WAIT A MINUTE! The word "gay" has an original meaning? :o I thought that line was referring to the fact that most male clothing designers happen to be gay.
