Guys,

I know I'm a little early with this but I thought it would be cool to create a new forum where we can discuss each episode of "Jessie" individually. Actually, I may not be as early as it seems because if memory serves I believe Disney is going to offer the first episode of "Jessie" for free on iTunes about a week before it airs. I'm going to have to double check on that because if that's the case you know that I'll definitely be downloading it.

As we get deeper into fall things usually get busier for me at work so do not feel you have to wait for me to post a new episode discussion topic to this forum. Any member is welcome to start an episode discussion topic here but let's keep the topics in the format I started with the episode number and title. If you wish to start a topic that is not about a specific episode but just a general topic about the show that's fine too. This forum will make an excellent archive as the show progresses. Debby herself may even enjoy reading it so she can get some insight into what us fans liked and what needs improvement. :D

Oh, I forgot to mention that we can have character discussions here too. They can either be separate topics or within the episode discussions. For instance, next to "Jessie" herself here is my favorite character from the show:

They usually do something like that. I'll keep you in the loop as I learn more. :)

Also, Mr. Kipling scares me. :P

If I'm not mistaken, FormulaFan said in the thread in the other forum that the first episode of "Jessie" will be available on Itunes on September 20th.

Thanks Greg, please do! :D No need to be scared my friend, reptiles are awesome! When it comes to conventional animal companions I'm definitely a dog person but reptiles are my favorite exotic animals. Crocodiles are my absolute favorite but unless you are someone who is excetionally well educated when it comes to working with animals (and I'm not) they aren't a very good choice to keep in capitivity.

Speaking of crocs, yesterday marked 5 years since the death of one of my favorite wildlife hosts, Steve Irwin "The Crocodile Hunter". He was one of my hereos and I really miss him.

Getting back to "Jessie" it turns out that "Mr. Kipling" was the first official cast member to make a public appearance. Debby tweeted there was a reptille show this weekend and Mr. K. was one of the stars.

Five years already? Wow, how the time flies. I remember that like it was just yesterday. He was a hero of mine too.

Yes, that's right. Poweranimals posted the press release over on SWAC Forum (but not here?)

"JESSIE," A COMEDY ABOUT A SMALL TOWN GIRL TURNED NEW YORK CITY NANNY, PREMIERES FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 30 ON DISNEY CHANNEL

Fan-Favorite Debby Ryan Leads Talented Ensemble Cast

Disney Channel fan-favorite Debby Ryan ("The Suite Life on Deck," "16 Wishes") stars in "Jessie," a new comedy series about a small-town girl who leaves behind her Texas roots and finds a job in the Big Apple as nanny to a high-flying couple's four precocious kids. The series premieres FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 30 (9:00 p.m., ET/PT) on Disney Channel.

In the premiere episode, Jessie accepts a job as a nanny and moves in with the Ross Family – high-flying couple Christina, a former supermodel turned business mogul, and Morgan, a famous movie director, their four kids and beloved 7-foot Asian Water Monitor Lizard. While Jessie's new big city life is full of opportunity and excitement, she quickly discovers how much she relies on the support and advice of the kids in her care -- 13-year-old Emma, the biological child of the bunch, 10-year-old Indian adoptee Ravi, 12-year-old American adoptee Luke and seven-year-old African adoptee Zuri. Also helping Jessie navigate her new big city adventure is Bertram, the family's beloved yet frosty butler, and Tony, the building's 20-year-old doorman.

Following is the multi-platform rollout for "Jessie":

Saturday, August 27
DisneyChannel.com will launch the "Jessie" super site, featuring the game Jessie’s Ross Wrangle, videos, weekly quizzes and a special dedicated site page for Debby Ryan.

Tuesday, September 20
Free download of "Jessie" available on iTunes and Sony PS.

Friday, September 23
Premiere episode of "Jessie" available on Disney Channel on Demand (SVOD).

Friday, September 30
Broadcast television premiere of "Jessie" (9:00 p.m., ET/PT), with simulcast on Sprint TV and MobiTV. "Jessie" premiere episode available on DisneyChannel.com.

Saturday, October 1
"Jessie" premiere episode available on Mobile VOD (AT&T, Sprint and Verizon) and Microsoft Xbox.

In addition to Ryan, the series stars Tony Award-nominated Kevin Chamberlin (Broadway's "The Addams Family") as Bertram; Peyton List ("27 Dresses," "Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Rodrick Rules") as Emma; Karan Brar ("Diary of a Wimpy Kid," "Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Rodrick Rules") as Ravi; Cameron Boyce ("Grown Ups") as Luke and Skai Jackson ("Royal Pains") as Zuri. Recurring are newcomer Chris Galya as Tony the doorman; Charles Esten ("Big Love") and Christina Moore ("Hawthorne") as Morgan and Christina Ross.

"Jessie" is created by veteran producer Pamela Eells O'Connell ("Family Matters," "The Suite Life of Zack & Cody," "The Suite Life on Deck"). The series is a production of It's A Laugh Productions, Inc. It carries a TV-G parental guideline.

Disney Channel is a 24-hour kid-driven, family inclusive television network that taps into the world of kids and families through original series and movies. Currently available on basic cable in over 99 million U.S. homes and to millions of other viewers on Disney Channels around the world, Disney Channel is part of the Disney/ABC Television Group.

All 6 promos in one place. :)

I don't know if this is a good place to present the next promo, if not, let Greg or Arwin may bring this post to the better place.

(Minimal spoilers)

Hey, I watched the first episode and it was pretty good. This show definitely is, for lack of a better word, more "adult" than most Disney Channel sitcoms. It is miles away from "Hannah Montana" or "Wizards of Waverly Place". I guess it's more like "Good Luck Charlie". It's a show that could easily go on the ABC Family Channel or it could have been a "TGIF" show on ABC Friday nights in the '90s.
There were actually even a few jokes I genuinely laughed at (when Jessie is playing video games with the Indian kid, she gets really into the game and says 'Eat lead!" at the character on screen- then turns to the kid and says 'That's just an expression, you should never actually eat lead'").

Debby looks gorgeous and very grown up on the show. She looks a lot more like a 19/20 year old than the young teen we are used to seeing her as on SLOD. I think her wardrobe contributes a lot to this too....very fashionable, trendy clothes that really flatter her figure.

The show has a premise that can really run for a long time (look how long "The Nanny" was on), and I'm really looking forward to where they go with it. And looking forward to watching Debby of course!

Dave101,

I've been sitting here like an idiot searching iTunes and can't find it anywhere. :? What did you search for?

I've tried:

Jessie (which they automatically think I'm searching for singer Jessie J)
Debby Ryan
New York New Nanny
