I don't agree. Judging from that kind of mentality, I presume you have no idea what a no-hitter or perfect game are. If you followed baseball you'd know that those are two of the most hallowed achievements in the game, and by definition they require the hitters getting zero hits in the game. Fewer things in the sport are more exciting than those two achievements. Perfect pitching and "pitcher's duels" can be just as exciting as "home run derby"-type games. If you're the type of person that requires fast action every single second, then baseball is just not your sport. But if you're the type of person that loves nail-biting suspense, then you've been missing out on a lot of great baseball, my friend. ;)

I always point this out: in other sports, if you take the lead, you can just run out the clock while keeping the ball away, and you usually win. In baseball there is no clock. Therefore you cannot just play "keep away" until you win. As Vin Scully once said, "sooner or later, the pitcher has to throw it."

You did lead with that, and that's fine, if that's your opinion, that's your opinion, but I was responding to your "wouldn't it be more interesting?" hypothetical. The answer is "No, not necessarily." Your hypothetical would turn baseball into just another stupid sport like football and basketball. :P

Luis, I have to say I have "come around" to baseball a lot in the past ear or two....but i ususally don't follow baseball until the playoff season...and that is only if the Cards are in it.

But, I have to admit that watching "pitching duels" or games that have "no-hitters" for the first half of the game are quite enthralling to watch!

Even if you hate the cards, you have to admit that Game #6 of the World Series was one of the best games EVER. PERIOD. :D

I will always be a football guy though. :D

Dodgers just got no-hit by the hapless Seattle Mariners. Meanwhile, Luis is embarrassed and wearing a paper bag over his Dodger fan head. :(

Dude, I feel bad for you. :( This is shaping up to be another "Year of the Pitcher". I may need you to send me that bag when Browns season starts.

It's been the "Year of the Pitcher" ever since they got tougher on roiders. No-hitters and perfect games are about as common as traffic in Los Angeles nowadays.
