Well, how would you possibly measure all "fans" of any person?

I just gave you two different and distinct metrics that both put Ashley behind Selena and before Miley and Demi. That makes me think it's at least a reasonable comparison. Say, plus or minus 10%. Can you counter that with anything concrete?

I can't but Disney can. They have proprietary ways of measuring the popularity of individual stars within the cast of a show. For instance, last year at this time would you have ever thought that Debby would have her own show? When it was announced Disney referred to Debby as a "fan favorite" and I have to believe that is not just a bunch of BS. They definitely measured that somehow. A company the size of Disney most certainly employs actuaries and statisticians who do nothing but come up with ways to measure this sort of thing. You and I both know they wouldn't have invested millions of dollars in Debby (or anyone else for that matter) if they didn't have a definitive way to measure popularity.

Of course they do. And you know how they do it? They use average ratings for shows their in, ratings for shows they guest star in, "draw" at special events, relative amount of web traffic /fansites related to the individual, twitter followers, facebook likes, focus groups, etc.

And obviously I don't have access to all that information, but the factors I do have access to clearly show Ashley is at least on par with Demi.

I wouldn't dispute that Ashley is on par with Demi in fact, it wouldn't surprise me if Ashley was more popular than Demi. She may have even been more popular than Debby, Selena and Miley at one time. That's not what we're debating here. The only point I'm trying to make is that Ashley was never . . . at least officially . . . DC's "it" girl or leading lady - whatever you prefer to call it.

For me personally I prefer Ashley to Demi and I would guess you would also but that doesn't change anything in the history of DC's leading ladies.

Yeah, I am definitely not saying Ashley isn't immensely popular. All I am saying is I don't think Ashley is one of DC's "it" girls. She has never clicked for me like that.

Okay... well in my model I was basically saying that Ashley was the Demi of her generation. Or conversely that Demi is the Ashley of her generation. So given that Ashley's still more popular than Demi, I'm going to stand behind my point of view.

If anyone disagrees, that's your right, but I don't see any actual evidence to counter my point.

Well, the poor girl will never be a popular as Bella, so I thought I should do what I could to help her. She might actually be able to catch up to Zendaya at least.
